Two photo exhibitions in Visakhapatnam are celebrating World Photography Day, offering a unique perspective on the city's recent events and the art of photography itself. The first exhibition, organized by the Vizag Photo Journalists' Association (VPJA), showcases the work of 26 photographers who captured significant moments in Visakhapatnam over the past year. From the Milan naval exercise to the President's Fleet Review, and from cyclones to motorsports, these images provide a detailed and immediate record of the city's news calendar. The event is also a celebration of the society's 25th anniversary, with a star-studded guest list including Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad, a Padmabhushan awardee, and Jaladi Ravi, the Principal of the Arts and Commerce College, Andhra University. The exhibition includes memorial and appreciation awards for photographers and journalists, recognizing their contributions to the art form. One notable award is the Sri Palla Raja Rao Memorial Award, which goes to K R Deepak of The Hindu, and the Sri Bandi Venkata Ramana Rao Memorial Award, awarded to M R Satyanarayana Reddy.
